Juliana is a medical doctor and public health activist, leveraging digital technology to promote health equity.
Being a firstborn child raised by grandparents, She witnessed her grandfather who worked as a clinician come from work every evening to attend to neighbours who could not afford hospital care, this inspired her not only to be a doctor but also to empower marginalised communities through healthcare.
Her journey began in 2015 as she founded Tanzania Health and Medical Education Foundation (TAHMEF) (www.tahmef.org ) to bridge socio-economic gaps that limit access to quality healthcare services among Tanzanians in informal sectors, the rural poor and indigenous communities through provision of : health education and screenings, medical education to healthcare providers with knowledge-skill gaps and linking households with affordable health coverage schemes. Her work has empowered 12,000+ Tanzanians in 6 Regions with services that are timely, accessible, effective and affordable.
